Acne & Blemishes
Sebaceous (oil-producing) glands are affected by our hormones. In people who have acne, these glands are particularly sensitive, causing the glands to produce too much oil and at the same time, the lining of the pores become thickened and old skin cells are not properly shed. Resulting in a mixture of the oil (sebum) and old skin cells build up which are trapped in the pores leading to the formation of acne and blemishes. The typical appearance of acne- prone skin has a mixture of characteristics, such as oily skin, the presence of blackheads, whiteheads and red, pus-filled pimples.
One of the most effective ways to treat acne is by keeping your skin clean from dirt, oil and impurities that causes acne. And never pick at your pimples. Picking can result in further inflammation and possible scarring.
